Our MVHR Services
From initial design through to installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance — Dr. Air provides a complete MVHR service, carried out entirely by our own NZEB-certified engineering team.
Everything Under One Roof
We don't subcontract. Every stage of your MVHR project is handled by our own certified team.
System Design
Every Dr. Air installation begins with a proper engineering design — not an estimate. Our NZEB-certified engineer analyses your floor plan, construction type and occupancy to calculate the exact airflow required in every room.
We use this to produce a full ducting layout, specify the correct MVHR unit from our partner brands, and determine the optimal manifold positions — before a single duct is installed.
- Full CAD-based ducting layout drawn to your floor plan
- Room-by-room airflow calculation to CIBSE standards
- MVHR unit selection across Komfovent, Brink and Zehnder
- Semirigid manifold duct system specification (Ubbink or Zehnder)
- NZEB and Building Regulations compliance review
Supply & Installation
We supply and install the complete system — MVHR unit, semirigid manifold ducting, all valves, grilles and fittings. As certified partners of Komfovent, Brink, Zehnder and Ubbink, we source directly and install to manufacturer specification.
Most installations are completed in one to two days with minimal disruption to your home. Our team works cleanly and leaves the site tidy on completion.
- Supply of MVHR unit from Komfovent, Brink or Zehnder
- Semirigid manifold ducting system (Ubbink or Zehnder)
- All valves, grilles, fittings and fixings included
- Installed by our own NZEB-certified engineers
- Typical completion in 1–2 days
- 3-year installation warranty on all workmanship
Commissioning
Commissioning is where most installers cut corners — and where most MVHR problems begin. Every Dr. Air installation is fully commissioned using calibrated airflow measurement equipment, with all supply and extract valves individually balanced to their target airflows.
You receive a full commissioning report at handover, documenting the measured airflow at every valve in the system — evidence that your installation performs exactly as designed.
- Calibrated airflow measurement at every supply and extract valve
- System balancing to designed airflow targets
- Summer bypass configuration and testing
- Controls configuration and user setup
- Full commissioning report with measured airflows
- Handover documentation and user training
"An uncommissioned MVHR system delivers the wrong airflows to the wrong rooms. Commissioning is not optional — it's what makes the system work."
Service & Maintenance
An MVHR system only performs as well as its maintenance allows. Blocked filters reduce airflow, lower heat recovery efficiency and can cause the unit to overheat. Regular servicing keeps your system running at peak performance year after year.
Our service visits include filter replacement, full airflow measurement, heat exchanger inspection, and a written service report — so you always know your system is performing correctly.
- G4 and F7 filter replacement
- Full airflow measurement and rebalancing
- Heat exchanger and fan inspection
- Written service report after every visit
- Direct access to our engineering team between visits
